The Quiet Between

Image
To be or not to be, that is the question – a breath caught in the hollow of dusk, where shadows stretch like whispered doubts, and the wind murmurs of paths not taken.   To linger in the pulse of half-forgotten things, to become the echo – or the silence that swallows it, each choice a stone dropped in still water, rippling out to the unseen edges of a life.   Perhaps it is enough to stand at the river’s edge, to watch the current carry what it must, each bend a soft forgetting, a letting go, the water moving on, without witness or weight.   So, let the days unwind – slow, unremarked, let the hours drift – like leaves on a patient tide, until the line between breath and shadow blurs, and to be, or not, becomes just a whisper in the wind. -Shagun Gupta The Quiet Between  © 2025 by  Shagun Gupta  is licensed under  CC BY-NC-SA 4.0

To Err is Human

Image
A human is a farce creature, The accent of his own feature, Each one carrying, on back, a litre, Out of zones and horizons, he is a seeker, Perpetually overreaching, he propels the potential, Limits, he overestimates, but is it superficial?  Knowledge is the greatest possession he has ever held But if knowledge is power, is it not material as well? Thirst is not what the mind thinks it is, It is the desire that makes him what he is, Hunger is the most primitive of human instinct, Then why is it shunned by all as if it’s a sin? Hope is just a skin-deep power play Another desperate attempt to overpower fate. What is the grandest mistake human has ever made? It is blurring the line between what he is and what he should have been, He is a fool who mistook mistake as a mistake,  Every word to the heart like a knife as a punishment. Each deed with a lapse of judgement, in stone, it’s set, If that is so, no one ever saw heaven, nor ever got out of hell. Then why, folks, others...

Circle stage – A Daydream

Image
On a record player, as we spin,  Or in the dazzling lights, transitioning dim, “Follow through and dance to me”  Follow this unreal melody—    As we spin, the stage circles faster,  Maybe waiting for a lovesick disaster,  Still unhinged by the shine on stage,  We melt in these melodies so strange.    Melting alright—we catch no breath,  Falling into each other as the sound progresses. Drowning and diving, right to come back to shore, We merge enough to not be separated anymore.    Clap and claps by the audience,  The center stage is a fading presence— The curtains fall, we don’t slow.  The music paused, we create our own.    We hum and dance till we fall—  Even when we fall to the lows,  We fall into each other, and the light again glows. Again it repeats, the circle stage, Again we dance without hesitation,  Circles and curves, lining throug...
